About the project

Contiki Holidays is renowned for offering unique travel experiences to young adventurers. As part of a significant initiative to enhance online customer engagement and streamline the booking process, the project aimed to revamp the digital interface of Contiki's retail website. This undertaking required a meticulous redesign of various UI/UX components to ensure an intuitive, user-friendly, and informative platform. Located in Madrid, and collaborating closely with stakeholders and development teams across London and India.

My role

As the UI/UX Designer for Contiki Holidays, I played a pivotal role in both the evolution and day-to-day management of the digital experience offered to users. My responsibilities encompassed the end-to-end design process, from initial concept to final implementation, focusing on creating intuitive, engaging, and aesthetically pleasing digital interfaces, contributing to the evolution and maintenance of the Contiki Design Toolkit, and the definition and documentation of components to be developed into the CMS ( Sitecore ) used by content editors.

For the map itinerary feature, I aimed to transform how users interact with trip planning. This feature facilitates a hands-on exploration of trip stops, providing detailed information through clickable points on the map, making the planning process more interactive and user-friendly.

Designed an innovative map search feature, enabling users to discover trips via a dynamic world map. Tooltips reveal essential trip details upon hover, making the exploration process both engaging and informative. This feature was conceptualized after thorough research and competitive analysis, designed with user experience in mind, and validated with both business and development teams for feasibility and impact.

Emergency Notification

An important feature was the emergency notifications. The solution involved integrating a floating button that alerts users about ongoing critical events. Upon clicking the button, users can access a detailed log of past emergencies. This feature is particularly useful for travelers, providing them with actionable information and historical context to navigate emergencies effectively.

Trip Page: Experiences

Crafted an engaging experience section for a trip page, highlighting the key inclusions of the journey. This section integrates Instagram photos from users who have previously enjoyed the activities, such as meals, providing a firsthand glimpse of the experiences.

Call Me Back feature

Designed this feature as a direct channel for users seeking personalized travel advice and booking assistance. This innovative feature integrates a user-friendly interface allowing potential travelers to schedule a callback at their convenience. Incorporating a calendar for date selection, a time slot picker, and a simple form for contact information, it prioritizes user comfort and flexibility.

Agents Website

The Contiki Agents platform is designed as a comprehensive tool for sales agents, enabling efficient trip bookings and customer service. Key features include trip comparison, eBrochure creation, and detailed trip search functionality. The platform's design and functionality was refined based on interviews with the agents, focusing on desktop use due to their preferences. The project aimed to provide a user-friendly interface for agents to access information swiftly and effectively, enhancing their ability to assist customers in making informed travel decisions.
